The Ubuntu Grannies will be holding a book fair and silent auction as part of their Grandmother to Grandmother campaign.  The event is taking place at St. John’s United Church, 3360 Highway 2, Fall River, NS on Saturday June 4th.

The proceeds will go to the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, to help African Grandmothers raise their orphan grandchildren.

Menopause: What You Need to Know
Staff from the IWK Women’s Health Community Clinics will talk about what to expect during menopause, and share information about osteoporosis.

Tara’s Esthetics is a local service in Fall River located on Lockview Rd.  From Tara’s website:

My name is Tara Dowell, I have grown up in Fall River. I graduated from Concepts School of Cosmetology in July 2001. I am a member of the Cosmetology Association, and am fully licensed.

I worked at another establishment, and developed a great clientele. I decided to move out on my own in Fall River, and opened Tara’s Esthetics in May 2007. I am located at 7 Lockview Road.

The annual Blue Nose Marathon will be held again this year during the coming May long weekend.

The 8th annual Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon will be held on Victoria Day holiday weekend May 20-22, 2011. As many as 10,500 runners and walkers will take to the streets of Halifax and Dartmouth in a celebration of healthy active living.
